Kinds of gemstones in Pakistan
When people see the natural
beauty of the various landscapes and get entranced by it, they think that there
can be nothing more spectacular than these picturesque views. However, nature
proves them wrong. Beneath these landscapes, lies a completely different world
that encompasses beauty in a rare form.
This hidden world is full of
natural resources that are important for human life. Amongst these various
natural resources, there are gemstones that are not only used as adornments but have other purposes as well. Pakistan is one of those countries that are
rich in natural resources which are not only unusual but attractive as
well.
Following are a few kinds of gemstones that
are prevailing in Pakistan.
Topaz:
Topaz
is well-known for the diverse colors that can be seen in different crystal
directions. The most preferred topaz is one which is step cut and is only found in
Pakistan. The gemstone is found in Gilgit, Chitral and Kalam.
Aquamarine:
The
clear gem which series from sky blue to sea green in color have its place in
the beryl group of stones. The stone is always step cut to increase its beauty.
Aquamarine
deposits can be found in the chitral, Shigar Valley, Neelum valley and Kaghan.
Ruby:
The
red colored stone is very famous when it comes to its usage in the ornaments.
As the deposits of ruby are found in rocky land, it is quite hard to mine it.
Hunza valley is home to the biggest ruby deposits in Pakistan. After Burma, Pakistan
is the only region in the world to produce ‘Blood Red’ ruby is Hunza valley.
Emerald:
The
green colored gem, with the sorts of yellow and blue, entrances offer superb
beauty. The well-known emeralds, which are in a transparent, sea-green color, are generally
extracted in Mingora, which is the largest city in Swat District.
